As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The article strictly follows the template below on this page.
  • The "Declaration of Interests" file has been attached.
  • The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format.
  • The title of the article, as well as the name of the author(s) should not be capitalized when added to the metadata.
  • Whenever possible, URLs are provided for references.
  • Text is single-spaced; 12-point font size; italics are used instead of underlining (except in URLs); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed in the appropriate places within the body of text, rather than at the end.
  • The article adheres to the stylistic and bibliographical requirements summarized in the Authors Guidelines

• Extension of the article: between 6000 and 7000 words. Less extension will not be allowed. In the case of review studies, texts of up to 8000 words will be accepted.


• Format: The font in the entire text must be Cambria with a size of 12 points and the paragraphs must be justified at both margins. It will be 2'5 cm. The line spacing will be simple and the first line should have a 1'25 cm indentation. Titles will be in bold and lowercase and subtitles in bold and italic. It always must be unnumbered.


• Identification of the author/authors: the identification of the authors will be done by two means: in the submission of the manuscript on the platform and in the "declaration of interests", available below next to the "article template" and "rules for authors". In the "declaration of interests" document, all authors must be included in order of presentation in the manuscript, indicating their contribution to it.


• Title of the article: In the author's language and also in the other two languages of the journal (depending on the case, Spanish, Portuguese, English).


• Summaries: Between 200 and 250 words.There are different ways to present the abstracts depending on the type of author:


• Keywords: Between 3 and 5.


• Text of the article: It is suggested that they follow the structure Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion and Conclusion, References.


• In the event that the research has received any funding, it must be specified in a section titled Acknowledgments and funding prior to the References section.


• Changes made by the author once the comments of the reviewers are indicated, must be marked in red in order to facilitate the work to the editor.
